Chromecast 2nd Generation support

So it is November 23rd 2015 and I have bought the second generation chromecast and was really excited to use it. I unpackaged it set it up and went to my Spotify application and realized it was not detecting any devices as it would detect my ps3 I understand there is 1st gen support is their support for 2nd Gen. This chromecast is round and it comes with a cord that has to stay plugged in let me know please the actual Spotify tech support didn't help me

I HAD the same issue. I never had Chromecast and bought a 2nd generation one. The issue was my Spotify was on offline mode so that it could not detect Chromecast. FYI, I restarted my phone before noticing Spotify was offline.
