Connect with Alexa doesn't work after minimizing the Spotify app

My Question or Issue

I have an Alexa hooked up to speakers in my living room, which I use to play music with Spotify connect. Using my phone to change the music works until I minimize the app. When I reopen it, it won't reconnect to Spotify Connect until I close the app and restart it. Does anyone else have this issue?

I should add that when it won't connect, it says there is no internet connection available
