Recently (perhaps around June?), I noticed that when opening spotify on my mobile, the default load screen is either the new/suggested artists home page if I am online, or the black "you are offline" message. Previously, opening Spotify would launch into whatever my last state was (i.e., My offline Library's previously played album). Before, I would launch Spotify, have my most recent play displayed, click play, and be on my way. Now, I have to navigate to the menu, My library, Artists, then scroll to find my previously loaded artist, then scroll to find the previously loaded album, and then be on my way. It is the same number of clicks if I am presented with the offline message. I realize that I am offline in that I activated Offline Mode, so that in and of itself is a rather frustrating notification.
I do realize how small of an issue this is, but at the same time I find it a reasonable matter of expectation for convenience considering the service is a paid subscription. I drive a lot for my work and travel, and because of this I do not like to manually navigate my phone app menus any more than necessary to listen to music when before it would just be available where I left off from my access the time previous. This was not an issue until recently, so perhaps I have overlooked a setting change?
Have I missed an update detail or a setting that I may have inadvertantly changed to bypass the now default screens? Is there a preference setting to change this?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions you may be able to offer.
❤️
You haven't missed anything - this changed a couple of updates ago and has confused folk who use offline mode. I wonder how difficult it woud be to open on Your Music page if offline mode is detected? Maybe worth posting in the ideas section?
I started a thread awhile back on the same topic. It is cumbersome having to drill down every time I open Spotify to get to my playlists. I also have no interest in that Just For You page. I don't search for new music when I am on the move.
Absolutely agree. I use my phone for music when driving, exercising, or yard work. I have no interest in browsing new music when doing any of that. I would rather open direct to my library (or have the options under settings to define my landing page).
Off topic, Spotify has been terribly buggy lately. Every other time I open the app, my downloaded albums have to be downloaded again. Settings screen locks up constantly, and individual tracks disappear more and more often than before.

Hey Joe,
In addition to the sneaky lil Hendrix nod you provided, thanks for the reply and reference. Much appreciated! 🙂
You should be able to set the app to open to Library instead of Home. There's a ton of junk on the Home screen nowadays.
