Disable autoplay on Android auto

Hi all,

How on earth can I disable autostart whilst using Android Auto. Once it connects to Bluetooth it consistently won't turn off. I can imagine it's very distracting and certainly makes driving more hazodous.

It still plays even with this setting turned off. There isn't an automatic setting that I can toggle in Spotify. Thoughts?

Same here. It's already off. Even if youre in general app settings (Android) and you tap "additional settings in the app" then it goes to Spotify settings, but then immediately jumps to Now Playing and leaves settings. It's tripping over itself with conflicting uncoordinated patterns from different groups of developers. Maybe Android OS is making Spotify look bad but Spotify shouldnt play along. They should pursue it on users' behalf and because it is unsafe and disrespectfully careless.

It is definitely not android auto issue. I disabled android auto completely and that didn't fix anything

I actually found the workaround: if you delete your playing app (ex.
Spotify, YouTube music, etc.) from the apps that Android Auto can access,
it won't automatically start playing. It's an annoying fix because then you
have to control audio from your phone rather than the car, but that
tradeoff is worth it for me to not have it constantly start playing.

My Question or Issue

The settings avaiable for Spotify in Android Auto are super minimalistic to say the least, unless I have missed where to find (more of) them. I have turned off the Autoplay function on desktop and iPhone but there is no such option in Auto version that I have been able to find. And it does autoplay at the end of all my playlists and I totally hate it... Can it be done? How?
