My Question or Issue

When I try to search for songs I get a message that says something went wrong.  Have another go?  With a Try Again button.

I have tried restarting, uninstalling, logging out, etc.  Nothing seems to work.  The problem is only on my phone, not on my computer.  It started right after I was messing around with connecting my account to a google home.

Anyone know how to fix this?

Thanks

Hi there @jgriff5646,

thanks for reaching out to the community !

Are you trying to use your device when it's connected through the WiFi of the same internet connection or through your cellular data like 4G for example ?

Waiting on your update 🙂

It didn't work on either.  However, the problem seems to have gone away.  It is working fine today.

Hi @jgriff5646,

thanks for answering so quickly !

I'm glad to hear it all works now.

However, don't hesitate to reply back to the post if the issue surfaces again.

I'm always around to help.

Enjoy Spotify 🙂

I am having the exact same issue. I have restarted cleaned out my cache and Uninstaller and reinstalled spotify to no avail

Hey @22ey4mtdwsxv66dhqzd3,

Thank you for reaching out to the Community and welcome.

We appreciate the troubleshooting you've done so far, but to be sure that we're on the same page - did you use these steps for a clean reinstall? They are more thorough than a regular one. That way you can make sure the cache is not causing this issue.

Also, could you check if it happens on a different device? This will give us a better look at the issue.

Lastly, if the issue persists, include in your next response the make, model and OS version of your device, along with the Spotify version you're currently running.

We'll be on the lookout.

Please, I'm having this issue, it's been going on for days and I've done everything I can but it's still coming up with the something went wrong message when I click on artists or albums... It's been really annoying...

Can someone help

Hey @Olile_Anya

Thanks for getting in touch about this here in the Community.

Just to confirm, is this happening across devices or only on a specific one? If it's only happening a specific device, could you let us know the exact make/model, operating system and Spotify version of it?

If it happens across devices, would you mind giving a different internet connection a go to see if the same happens?

Keep us posted.

Spotify works smoothly on my PC and the web page on the web. Unfortunately the app won't open on my phone, I'll click the app and it just backs out giving me a message saying "Something went wrong, Spotify closed because this app has a bug, try updating after its developer provides a fix for the error". The playstore has no update available for the app so I'm at a lost. I've reinstalled it, cleared cache, restated my phone, nothing has worked.

My Question or Issue

It happened few days ago,

Just normally listening Spotify on my phone.

And then the song just stops suddenly..

I thought it was just a bug or something else.. then now, I cant use spotify normally on my phone. It just crashes with no android bug report thing... I tryed to reboot, reinstall, wipe data on settings... still can't solve..

It can be fix.. Just swap the account.......

I prepaid subscription.. What is this support system? Am I have to be stupid like this?

I hate spotify backend.. it always have a problem..

Hey @Theflash11,

Sorry to see you've been affected by this. From what I've seen this error can be caused by a temporary connection issue.
With this in mind, it's worth taking a look if it still persists and if it does - see if changing your network would make a difference. Make sure you're not using any VPN services.

In case the issue remains, it's a good idea to take a look at the reply from @OscarDC, where the steps for a complete clean reinstall of the app can be found. We can see that you've already gone over almost all of these steps, but it's still a good idea to give them another shot in the order specified in our FAQ article.

If things remain unchanged, we'd like to ask you what your device details are. We'll need the following info:

  • Your device's make & model (Realme gt 7?)
  • Its OS version
  • The Spotify app version available to you

Much appreciated. Keep us posted on how things go.

Edit: @Runa207 we moved your issue to this topic as it seems to be very similar. Could you let us know if you're getting the same error message as @Theflash11 please? Many thanks! 🙂
