Editing playlist order on spotify mobile (Android)

Why doesn't spotify support manually changing the order of playlists on the mobile version?

Is there some kind of technical hurdle to work around or are Spotify just not listening to the people that are asking for it?

Guys I created a change.org petition for this issue, let's try to get enough signatures to have Spotify notice the issue.

I have found a solution. I am switching to Deezer. And there are apps that migrate your playlists, just google it. The non existence of this feature within Android devices, whose users dislike iOS "closed" and "proprietary" software strategies but love music is plain absurd.

You can, if you are talking about sorting the songs in a playlist.

How: 

Go to "Your Music".

Select a playlist.

Swipe down (scroll screen to the top).

Click on the three horizontal lines in the top right (under the three vertical dots)

Sort away! 🙂

Its Not working. Your solution works out with ios but the Same function is still missing on android. Incredible.... Why is spotify Not changing this Problem????

I am on sony Z2. Hard to imagine its a Hardware Problem. Anyone here with sony and similar Problem? Cheers

You can't custom sort songs....only by preset design like artist, album,
etc. I know there's an option for custom but even when selected you can't
actually move an individual song from one line to another.
I've had many an email with Spotify customer service and they all say "its
something we're working on" but have no date to actually complete. They say
they need more users saying its a need before going forward. However, if
you have an IPhone, its already available and has been for years. Very
frustrating for those of us who want to create specialized playlists. I can
do it on desktop but not on any Android device.
Wish your solution worked but it doesn't.

Most Android users have this problem...and sadly, Spotify doesn't rely seem
to care about fixing it anytime soon. Lots of users have gone to other
music apps like Google where you can sort using Android.
I am able to customize playlists on my desktop but that's it. Not so
convenient for sure.
Keep sending emails to Spotify customer service asking for this change to
be made.

Many thx for Your answer. Thats exactly what I am dealing with. I Do sort the List with my ipad but it could and should be much easier on android too.... No good light on spotify though.... Might consider moving forward to deezer or anything else...

Why can I not manually drag and drop songs in my playlists on android in order to sort them. This is such a simple feature that has been lacking on Spotify for Android for years. Why should I have to sort my songs on my pc instead of just being able to do it on my android phone? All other music applications have this feature, which makes me wonder why I don't use them instead. Such a basic feature that has needed to be implemented for so long. Even the ios platform had this feature, while android does not, when android is easier to develop apps for than ios. If I'm paying $10 a month for premium, then why can't I sort my playlists manually on my smartphone? I have an LG G3 running Android Lollipop. Please fix this Spotify, I may switch to Google play music soon if I can't even sort my own playlists...

Really you can't make this happen for android users. You would think it would be the other way around since Apple created a streaming service for the sole purpose to take money, artist's and business away from SPOTIFY's streaming service. It can't be proprietary because other services allow you to rearrange your lists. WAKE UP, DO SOMETHING QUICK!!! It can't be that hard. Maybe hire someone capable of writing the program. I'll look for someone if you need help finding someone...HONESTLY !!!

C'mon Spotify!!! Listen to your Android users. We love your app with one big exception...the lack of playlist editing. Please just give us all an honest answer...not, "we're working on it". What's the issue when this already works on IPhone and has for years? You've got the feedback you told me you needed...pages of it! Fix it now, please.

Curious, I didn't expected to be unable to find this feature in the App.

To be honest, one of the major features I use on a PC, hence I never thought this could be missing in the app. Pls. add this essential feature asap to the app !!!

I am waiting for it since January 2014... But the staff of Spotify is ignoring the request (despite it has been requested from so many users in so many different ways). This is why I am using Google Music ever since...

@joe-K7 What's so odd is that is a feature on the IPhone app and has been for years! I can't imagine why it would be so difficult to develop for Android. What many have come to think is that Spotify just doesn't care. I was told by Spotify customer support that not enough interest in this feature had been expressed and once it was they would add it. Personally, I find that a silly excuse but please send email to Spotify CS anyway. Maybe your email will tip the scales! Thanks
