Everytime i pause spotify it restarts

My Question or Issue

Everytime I pause the app through the music control or if I play a video or a sound on another app that pauses spotify, the spotify app/music control bar at the top closes after 3ish seconds and I have to re-open the app to  play again.  And even when I do, the song starts from the beginning.

This never used to happen until a while ago. I've tried reinstalling and clearing cache but none of the above worked
