Solved! Go to Solution.
Hey @mlazzarotto91 I've found the progress indicators in both the desktop client and on android to be unreliable so I just ignore them and leave thngs alone until it tells me the downloads have completed.
I have a Samsung tablet and a Samsung 4S phone. The tablet I bought for dedicated use of Spotify. It started off fine and will play offline OK as long as you don't use a universal plug and try to amplify it. Same with my phone - very disappointing! What is the solution? Go Apple?
I have a different problem:
I've erased some offline songs that I don't want anymore in the App, but it didin't liberate space in the SD card...
Does anyone knows what I have to do to clear just some albums and/or songs from the App AND SD Card?
Sorry, my english is not too good.
Thanks!
Jorge
I have this problem. In online modus it keeps refreshing but in ofline modus the lists are not available even though I have downloaded the lists before the update.
Hey @ivorthurston Could you please explain exactly what you mean by "use a universal plug and try to amplify it"?
@user-removed That shouldn't happen. Which android version are you using. Is your phone rooted or are you using a custom ROM?
@Matusalix The android OS will reclaim the space once it is needed but you can force it to be freed immediately by clearing the cache from the spotify settings screen.
@cedric_Borgers Are you waiting until the tracks are fully downloaded before going offline - they should all have the green down arrow against them. Wht device, android and spotify versions are you using? Is the cache on an external SD card?
They don't become green. Before the update they did but not anymore. I can click download but then it also stops after 70 %. I think the problem is that the app keeps refreshing after 5 - 10 seconds. Every screen resets it selves after 5 - 10 seconds. So maybe it loses his connection with the Spotify server?
@jwylot: I'm using Android 4.3 and no, my phone is not rooted.
It is a hassle, but the only way I have found to work around the bugs in the new release is to download the songs on the playlists I want and then turn spotify on the Andriod only, to offline. This way all the songs play and the app doesn't skip back and forth from the browse screen to the your playlist screen. It is not a fix just a temporary work around that is working for me. I have Galaxy 3 Samsung, non rooted, Android 4G. Factory settings. No music downloaded from my own personal library, just from Spotify library.
Still have to redownload at times and clear Cache, but like I said temp workaround for now.
Hello guys!
I am not sure this is the right place to ask, but something weird is happening to my Android Offline.
Problem 1:
The option "days before you have to go online" is not going up. Yesterday was 19, today 18, basically I am the whole day online at work but this is not working.
The other device I use to play music at home is behaving the same way.
Problem 2:
So now I went to offline mode and logged out ot spotify. Now for some reason I cannot come back. Keeps saying to turn off the offline mode. I have no idea how...
Edit to add: Solved by re-installing and losing all downloaded playlists.
Spotify is so frustrating lately, SO frustrating. Payment problems, bad updates, now stuck again without music because of some weird thing.
Totally agree with the user above. Spotify app is getting progressively worse and worse - the new version on my phone seems to just have decided to remove the "show offline content only" function (or I'm just stupid, but it seems I looked all over the app). Will have to look for a way to reinstall an older version, it seems...
I don't know what kind of dev you have, but they are pretty bad (or vicious).
I'm Premium user since 2010. It means I can sync and listen my playlists offline on my phone... but somehow, it NEVER WORKS ! I'm just back from a roadtrip in Iceland, an amazing place where music is great because there is no radio there except near the capital.
Thanks to you, dear Spotify Devs, my friend and I were unable to reach our offline playlists that we sync in Wifi just before leaving France. What a joke when we both pay a separated account and face the same problem for unkown reasons. We were mad at you, really. So much bad words in the car...
Why paying for a service that doesn't work ?
Give me a good answer or refund this month please.
Hello.
I have 13.45 GO free space in my SD Card but Spotify prefers to download my offline songs in the phone memory which has only 1 Go. available.
I tried to sync songs with all qualities, to delete data, to reinstall, but it doesn't work.
My phone is a Wiko Cink Five with Android 4.1.2 and I have this problem since the update 1.0.0.82.
Help please. Thanks.
Had the same problem with the new app.
Installed it and figured when I uninstalled it took the old data with it, well it didnt and it didnt reuse it.
1. Open Settings in your Spotify Android app.
2. Click Delete cache and saved data.
3. Click OK.
4. Click OK again.
5. Sign back into your app.
6. Then redownload all of your music again.
