Help with shuffle and song searching

Firstly my issue with shuffle. Everytime I open Spotify and go to start playing shuffle is always off by default. Whenever I turn it on it works as intended until I select a song from my playlist and then it turns shuffle off again. This is only an issue that has erupted in the last few weeks but had occured a few times a while back. My second issue is that if I search for a song/artist in my playlist I go to select the song and say there are 5 results and I select the 2nd one, it plays the second song in my playlist like i hadnt even searched anything. Any help for either of these issues would be greatly appreciated.
