My Question or Issue

The app keeps freezing after entering a playlist, then trying to go back to the home screen. The app will not respond to input until it is force closed and reopened. This happens almost every time I go back to the homepage, by pressing the back button in the system controls, the back button in the app, or by just selecting the home button in the app. 


If I am currently playing a song, then go back to the homepage and freeze the app, I can still select the song and access the now playing screen. I can use the media controls in the notification area while the app is frozen.


This issue does not occur while switching playlists in search or library tabs.


I have cleared data and cache, uninstalled, verified no local spotify files on device, then reinstalled. Same issue. I have restarted the phone multiple times.

Plz try a workaround from my post here:

- open Spotify
- delete cache
- close app
- open spotify
- nothing happend as allways 😉
- disable network
- wait for the app showing the notification in button than we are offline
- enable network again
- ..wait for it!!!!
- BOOOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- MAGIC Moment 🙂
- EVERYTHIGN is working again with DEFAULT speed

Spotify has a problem on start up I thing. Something wrong happen there.

I am encountering the exact same issue on my Galaxy S9 (also in the US) for my premium account. I'm on Android 10. I tried reinstalling and following the steps described above but the app keeps freezing on the home screen. Please advise on how to resolve this. 


I contacted Spotify support and had them transfer my profile to a new account, which solved the issue. It looks like it's account based somehow, I don't really understand why though. To test of this is the same for you, make a free account with a different email address and log into your Spotify app, and see if you continue to experience the issue. If not, Spotify support was able to transfer my account in a few hours, and added a month of premium to the new account.
