How do I get a usable user interface back on Android TV?

My Question or Issue

I haven't been in the Spotify app on the nvidia shield TV for a while but noticed today the user interface has greatly changed and not for the good. Is there  any way to get back to the previous version of the user interface?

Any way to make the user interface spread out again and not have everything smooshed into the bottom of screen? The new interface is a tremendous waste of screen space an less useful than the previous version.
