How to change head unit interface?

I have Spotify installed on the Android head unit inside my car and the interface used to be very car-friendly. But nowadays the interface feels incredibly unsafe to use with the tiny buttons. I also don't see the option to turn on car-mode inside the settings anymore so what gives? How do I get the app to appear with bigger buttons?
