My Question or Issue
On the album view the art is really low resolution. It looks awful on any album.
The now playing screen on the other hand looks fine, anyone know how to fix this?
Thanks for the inputs everyone!
We've once again relayed this to our tech folks. While we cannot provide a timeline for a fix at this moment, rest assured this is being looked into and remains on our radar. In the meantime, make sure to always keep the app up to date.
Take care!
I use Samsung Galaxy S20 FE and its OS is Android 11. The version of my Spotify is 8.7.10.1262. When it comes to troubleshooting I tried things such as reinstalling the app, clearing cache files and using other accounts.
hi!
I'm having the same problem in my phone, it's running android 11
the quality is really bad, even on Spotify playlists
Hey folks,
Thanks for the posts and info that you've submitted.
We've passed this on to the right teams at Spotify, who'll look into what might be causing this.
We'll keep you updated here as soon as we have more info.
Cheers.
Hey @Wawrzyn,
Thank you for keeping in contact and for your patience.
The relevant team found that some of the cases could be caused by restrictions on the device (battery saver, restrict data usage, etc). As the team needs to confirm some information to keep investigating, would you mind checking in the Settings of your device, under Apps if Spotify has all the permissions, along with being excluded of any data usage limitations or network restrictions?
In case you meet all those requirements, could you send us a screenshot where we can see it to add it to the investigation?
Lastly, if the issue persists, could you include in your next response the OS version and Spotify version you're currently running in that device? This is because the versions received updates recently.
We'll be on the lookout.
My Spotify version: 8.7.22.125
My phone's OS: Android 12 (One UI 4.1)
Unfortunately, as you can see on the third screenshot, that didn't help and the issue still persists.
Hey there,
Thanks for posting in the Community.
Could you post some screenshots of the observations, so we can get a better look?
Is the issue occurring on a different device with a different account?
Also note, that the quality of the artwork display on your device also varies depending on the speed of your internet connection. Make sure you're using a stable one.
Keep us posted,
Cheers!
Hi Dian! Thank you for answering me. The issue is occurring in my phone (Samsung A52), in both of my PC the artworks look good, but in my phone they look really pixelated (And I already checked my internet connection, and it's working fine, I use the audio quality in Very High and there's no problem with the sound quality or the way the app works).
The issue of the bad artworks quality don't happen with all of them, but the most of them look like this:
Hey @Franruta00,
Thanks for the reply and the screenshots.
Could you try replicating this with a different mobile device and your account?
We need to find out if this issue is related to you account or not or it is related to the specific device setup.
Keep us posted,
Cheers!
I'm having the same issue on Android app version 8.7.42.943 Android 11. It's been like that for a while now. also, the good morning/afternoon/evening recommendation albums rarely update
Hi! This is how the covers look from my desktop; they clearly look way better than in the phone version. I updated the app again, and they still look the same 😞
Hey @Franruta00,
Thanks for the heads up.
We recommend that you log in with your account on another mobile phone only (not desktop) in order to check if this happens with a different mobile device.
Changing tunes, let us know if this happens when logging in with a different account on your phone.
We'll stay tuned.
I am also having many issues. This one with the bad quality images including the images in the about artist. The colour banding looks horrendous, album art often doesn't show in the now playing bar, often album art, artist profile pictures etc. fail to load until I go out of the page and then back into it. There are just too many issues.
These are from another samsung phone.
PS; when i download a full album, and turn on the offline mode; the photo looks good
Hey @Franruta00,
Could you confirm the exact device models, OS types + OS & Spotify versions on all mobile devices you have tested this issue with :?
Thanks a lot!
1. Samsung A52; Android 12, One UI Version 4.1. Spotify version: 8.7.44.968
2. Samsung Galaxy A02; Android 11, Onen UI Core 3.1. Spotify version: 8.7.44.968
It happens with most of the photos. For example the "This Is Katy Perry" playlist cover looks excellent; on the other hand, the "This Is Lady Gaga" playlist cover looks awful, super blurry. I have a good wifi connection, on the desktop all the photos look fine
I just discovered the offline thing recently. Same thing happens to me when I download an album and turn of wifi, the photo quality is good
Hey folks,
The relevant team has informed us that this should be fixed by now with the latest update. In case you still have this issue, it would be necessary to perform a clean reinstall of the app to fix some files from the previous versions.
If you still have this issue after the reinstall, include in your next response the Spotify version you're currently running to check your case.
If you have any additional questions, don't hesitate to ask.
