Low volume on Android app

Low volume on Android app

The sound is incredibly quiet in the Android app. I have to put the volume at 100% if I want to get the same volume I'd get playing the same song at 60% volume in Google Play or my phone's native music app. Is there a fix for this? I find it disappointing considering that I am paying for this.

So this post has been going for nearly a year and there is no sign of a fix  think I'm going to look for a new player. Come on Spotify stop counting your money and pull your finger out

A lot of apps have this issue. It's not just Spotify. I think they're all using a default EQ module instead of producing they're own. By the way, pandora doesn't have as many songs as Spotify (the last I checked). Maybe they've changed since they've switched to on-demand music.

I have been frustrated with the same problem with my Samsung galaxy 6 and Spotify, low max volume and no matter what settings, looking through every forum nothing works.

I've tried buying new earphones, changed SoundMagic E10s for Sennheiser's momentum 2 no joy.

So I thought of a external portable amplifier.  Ordered the Fiio btr1 Bluetooth amp, and there it is, that's what I'm looking for volume and quality.  The S6 now feels like a dedicated music player and now getting my money's worth out of Spotify premium.  Also the btr1 fits into the earphones case it's so small.

Hope this helps.

did you follow my instructions in the earlier post? I had a Samsung s6, and it worked fine for me.

I did have some success using your method with my S6 thanks, but wanted to get as close to a dedicated music player's sound quality with high volumes as possible from my phone.  Bluetooth headphones or an external headphone amp looked like the best option for me, I'd just had enough tweaking Spotify and phone settings and changing wired headphones.

I ended up with the external portable amp, and now Spotify is a keeper.

Speaking as a music collector, it can be EXTREMELY frustrating. I do understand... But remember we are dealing with not just hardwear, it's also software, and if those two things are not compatible with each other, or if one is not up to par with the other, it's a pain in the **bleep**. Having said that, although I LOVED my S6, I know every couple of generations I must upgrade, it's the only way to make sure every possible functionality is available to me (as well as security, both physical and wireless securtity).

I use Pandora premium and another music players and have never had this issue.  The issue is definitely with Spotify.  I had the same exact problem on my last phone which is Galaxy S7.

A2g0s.8937420.0.0.N6HGQRHey guys I got the same issue but you are all talking about a EQ I don't have that or I just don't know ow how it should like Like  the sound doesn't change when I put it on different levels actually I'm new with Spotify there are some options I don't know what's for it would be a great help if you could get a explanation sone of the options is pretty obvious

I find it appalling that Spotify "tech" support have ignored this issue and thread for a number of years. Android is hardly an unpopular platform and forcing us not to use an equaliser IS a software issue and they should have resolved it long before now. Had it over 3 phones and sick of it!!

Disconnect it from Bluetooth then forget the connection. Just restart the Bluetooth connecting as a fresh start. Plays fine for me at least.

**bleep**. Just letting the phone forget the bluetooth connection and finding it again worked for me as well. Might be an easy fix for you other guys too. Awsome!

Same here.

What is going on?

For Bluetooth headphones with volume this is not an issue but will my nura phone which has no volume control... Big Issue.

why? just paid for spotify leaving google play and now i git this? i want my volume or my money back . on moto g5

my neighbors arent complaining so this is certainly NOT a relative opinion

i must apologise for my alter ego. yes the neighbours arent complaining and no, its nobodies fault the spotify app has no volume control. having said that i really would like the default volume on the spotify to very loud so i can temper as needed with phone volume level or with target device volume controls.

It's not the device problem. Works loud and great using Poweramp music player and Google music. Spotify so low. And this is 2018 may 6 . Low . If it was my device why would it be very loud on Google music and Poweramp? Smart one? Let me know

I've got a Galaxy S7, Android 7.0 with the same volume issue on Spotify. This is frustrating especially on road trips where the volume of Spotify is much lower than the Google Maps navigation voice. Cranking up the volume to hear music but then scare the heck out of everyone when directions are given. Please help Spotify! My toddler needs your attention.

Same deal over here. I wanted to make a full switch over to spotify from google play but that's not happening if I can't really listen to music over commuting chatter. Probably going to cancel my subscription tbh

Same problem here, really disapointing...

Just picked up the Essential phone running Android 8.1. Spotify volume is still very low and almost unlistenable at Max volume with headphones. Keep this thread going until they fix this. Maybe we should take to Twitter? Seems to get companies moving. #stoplimitingmusic #wepayforthis?

This worked for me. Thank you!

"So I disabled MusicFX and now the sound leves and quality matches the 3 other inputs in my car "(AM/FM Radio, Slacker Native and my UBS stick)

again, not sure what fixed it but i'm glad its better.

to disable a system app, go to your

settings

apps

all apps

then on the top right click the 3dots and select show system

scroll to MusicFX

i cleared the data out first and the disabled it
