Hi,
when playing songs the music will stutter when the screen turns off, but plays fine when the screen is on.
This happens to downloaded files and streaming if spotify has acces to wifi.
Dont happen to downloaded files when spotify hasnt acces to wifi.
The problem appeared with last update.
I've clean android installation.
It's really annying, I've Spotify premium and can't listen to music on my android.
Solved! Go to Solution.
IT seems possible that it was not spotify's fault of the studdering.
I just connected my phone (the same note 3) to my work laptop via bluetooth and i had no studdering with the 2 songs i tested.
So its possible that my new golf from aug-13 has some problem with the bluetooth connection, because yesterday i couldnt connect the phone and car because the pairing seems borked.
Im going to give a few more tries and debugging to try verify that its the car that makes the fuss.
Breaking News! [3]
Just upgraded Spotify from 0.6.6.270 to newest version 0.7.6.343
Guess what? Still stuttering..so again, downgrading and paying for premium on 0.6.6.270 😕
I had this issue, and it started with my Note 3. I had a 32GB Class 10 micro-SD card in the phone and bought a new 64GB Class 10 micro-SD card. This didnt help...
I then bought the new LG G3, and sold the Note 3, I was sure this would fix the problem... But NOOO... It had never been worse!!
I then started to think... Maybe it can be that the lower CPU limit when the screen was off was too low for apps like Spotify to function properly? That would make sense... The LG G3 have a massive resolution on the screen, so maybe the phone have lower CPU limit then the Note3, to save battery where it can.
I then rooted the phone, raised the lower CPU limit and now everything is super! No problem with the sound at all...
Can anyone try this and confirm?
I don't agree that users should have to root their phone to get Spotify to not skip when the screen is locked / off. This is really bad practice and not a solution for users who don't want root.
This might fix the issue but Spotify never had this issue in older versions (see all other previous posts about older spotify versions). This started happening on my Note 2 recently after I updated from an older build of Spotify and it's really lame.
I'm still using 0.5.3.56 - i hate stuttering and lags on newest version.
I am having the same stuttering problem with my android phone. Anyone tell me how can I downgrade to an earlier properly functional version of the player? If I can´t do that I´ll have to cancel my premium account and move back to Rdio or Deezer (their players are awful but at least they play the music)
thx
Just install old app from apk.
