Music not playing when media is downloading

My Question or Issue/Workflow
I turn on the wifi on my device, and launch spotify.Te application starts to dowload/update playlists. While The download is running the application takes extremely long to start the layout, and when I am finally able to press play (on the bottom bar to resume playback) nothing happens. No music. It shows as it was playing, the time is going and everything, but no sound. While songs are being downloaded the playback dimply does not work, and the whole application is very slow.
When I switch applications, they work fine, but the spotify app is just useless, until all the new music is downloaded.
Please add a download pause feature, or make the download use less resources, or something. This behavior is simply not acceptable.
