Music skipping like a CD

As of late, when listening through my app, the music will skip as though it's a scratched CD. It'll be the first song in a playlist or album for the first 30 seconds or so.

I followed the directions posted here (community.spotify.com/t5/Android/Audio-skipping-like-a-scratched-CD/td-p/2049787) when this happened the first time. I've completely turned off the app monitor (it was giving me problems with another app as well, so that was the easiest way), so it's not that. Any thoughts? I have a Samsung Galaxy S6.

Have you tried turning off the equaliser in spotify's settings?
