New to Spotify, why does it stop playing?

I'm new to Spotify. I finally learned how to add my music to my playlists and I'm happy. I put my earbuds in, turn on my playlist (with over 400 songs in it) and attempt to drift off to sleep. After about a half hour, the music stops. I have full battery, full connection, everything is perfect, it just stops playing! I pick up my phone (I use my Samsung Galaxy S8), and Spotify is still open, I just have to start it again. What's up with that?

Any help for this novice would be greatly appreciated!
