Now Playing bar missing on Android

The control bar never appears (see screenshot).
There is a closed and huge thread relating to vaguely similar issues (but with Samsung phones).  I have tried all the suggested steps in that topic, including a clean re-install of the app, to no avail.
Device: CPH2021 (Oppo A91)
Android 11 (ColorOS v11.1)
Spotify version: 8.9.36.616 (premium)

It seems an update to version 8.9.38.494 fixed the problem for me! At least for my first tries so far, changing light/dark mode didn't trigger anymore the disapperance of the playing bar, as another user had figured out and hinted here. With the old version (8.9.36.616, Premium), I could reproduce that and I am always using dark mode, maybe that was the cause.

I've had the problem not only since a few days but half a year or so! I really hope this is indeed fixed now.

I can confirm the issue, and it seems fixed by a reinstall, at 8.9.52.552 - Samsung z-Flip 5, Android 14.

On my Samsung TV the Now playing and Control Buttons disappeared to. Also can't see a queue. When I press play on a song in a playlist it plays but goes back to home screen. This happened today when I started the TV and Spotify. This problem is very annoying and hopefully it will be fixed soon. I am having this problem on a Samsung TV so NOT on a phone. On my Samsung phone Spotify works fine. Please Spotify fix the issue with the TV soon. Using Samsung TV, Spotify App version 2.1.51

A clean uninstall unfortunately is impossible for Samsung TV(s). You can't remove or clear all data just uninstall.. Which unfortunately doesn't remove all the data.

*update on my messages here^ * Spotify works for me on the TV now again with play bar (and buttons). suddenly it appeared again.

Issue seems to be fixed for now.

I use a Samsung Galaxy S8+ (old😅). I'd say about a month ago now the "play" bar in the slide down menu is gone. I can only access spotify now by opening the full app. It continues to play in the background which is good, just loss that ease of control I guess.
