Podcast Stuttering

Podcast Stuttering

When I try to listen to certain podcasts, they stutter as if not loading properly. I've tried deleting my data, reinstalling the app, unmonitoring the app, nothing has worked. This only happens with certain podcasts, not all, and only when I'm using data. Any help would be much appreciated.

So uh update, the problem is still there... No progress at all BUT in the spotify Lite version everything runs nice. Just noticed this a few minutes ago so... Yeah dear devs there's something off on the full-version(?

I encourage everyone that had the same issue to try this an tell us how did it go

Hello.

I'm having a similar issue with Podcast. But they doesn't even start to play. The status bar on my phone say "Spotify is trying to play..." but it gets stuck and never started to play. Tried downloading the episode with no effect. There is no issue with the music. Tried the Spotify Lite workaround and the podcast played smoothly. Now I'm listening my podcast on Podcast Go because of the issue.

Hey there folks,

Thank you for your posts. We'll pass your feedback to the right team.

Would you mind confirming if it works better with another internet connection to see if the issue persists?

Also - can you log in with another account on the device it occurs on - such as a friend's or a family member's?

Does this happen for all podcasts or just specific ones?

For those who haven't left the information that was asked by @Alex in the thread - please do so we can have a closer look at it.

Keep us posted. We're always one reply away ๐Ÿ™‚

Cheers!

I have the same issue but it only happens when the screen is off.

It happens with all podcasts, no matter if they are downloaded, played over wifi or mobile data. Bluetooth makes no difference. I also tested all battery settings including specific ones for Spotify.

Device: Google Pixel 3a

Android Version: 11

Since I pay for Spotify premium and podcasts are a core feature I use, this is super annoying. I am not able to keep my screen on 24/7 and therefore am unable to listen to podcasts on my smartphone.

It stutters on my phone no matter what i am connected to. I have a LG stylo
4 . My daughter has the same phone and the same service and has no issues
at all. All of my family has no issued with anything except mine. And i am
also the only one who listens to podcasts on our service.
And since i am also paying for premium i find this highly frustrating and
will be changing to another service shortly. Only reason i use spotify is
for podcasts and if i cannot get them here i will be forced to go elsewhere.

Its been fixed! At least for me as I updated today (01 October 2020) and FINALLY runs smooth as always. Please update your app and see if its done!

Hey there folks,

Thank you for your posts and information you've provided.

We released a new version of Spotify the of 24th October for Android and IOS. Can you confirm if you've performed a clean reinstall after that? With a clean reinstall you can be sure that any old cached files are not causing this.

Also - can you let us know what country/region your in?
