C'mon Spotify, stop ignoring our posts and turn this "treating podcast channel as a album" off. This is utterly crazy for an app to play all night long and when you listen to the newest episode it will then start another, random one from the list! It used to at least turn off after the newest was played and now even this is gone - and that my friends proves that it had been changed on purpose!
When I listen to a fresh podcast and reach the end, Spotify will start playing other podcasts on its own. And it will not restrict itself to podcasts that I have not heard before...
I can imagine this is not a problem for music but for podcasts, I find this rather annoying. I do not listen to podcasts as it was background music.
Is there a way to turn this behavior off?
I have autoplay off and it still autplays completely unrelated casts in genres I have never listened to.
its beyond infuriating.
there is no such option.
Hey everyone,
We can confirm that this is the current expected behavior on mobile. At Spotify, we're often testing and launching improvements to the app. This means you might occasionally see something your friend doesn’t, or get a new feature to try temporarily.
Your feedback on this is important, as it may ultimately end up paving the way for our broader user experience. Thanks for sharing it here - we appreciate it. In the meantime, make sure you're always running the latest version of Spotify so you don't miss out on any updates.
It's worth mentioning that if you open a single episode on desktop and play it from the big green Play button, only that particular episode will be added to the queue. If there isn't any other content manually added to the queue, and Autoplay is toggled off in the app's settings, the playback will stop when the episode ends.
Hope this clears things up. Take care.
Hey ! I found a solution (for iOS) just go to Apple Podcasts > Continuous Playback and then disable playback.
It's annoying because spotify autoplays podcast I have no interest in
Please fix this issue though. It shouldn’t be a hard change to make to the app.
