Problems when playing Spotify through Android Auto in Car

Solved!

Problems when playing Spotify through Android Auto in Car

Have an issue with Android auto and not sure what the problem is.  It only happens when my Phone (galaxy S7 with latest software) is connected by Bluetooth to my 2015 Ford Fiesta.  Basically I can't use spotify in Android Auto.  It just keeps playing for a second then shutting down and loading again then shutting down.  It's fine if I do the same thing through any other bluetooth source just the car.  Also I can play Spotify fine on its own.  If I use tunein radio within Android auto its fine.

The fact that it plays fine through any other Bluetooth source leads me to think its something to do with the car but I'm not sure as it used to work before.

Any ideas?

I've been having this problem for the past couple of weeks as well.  Spotify was working fine before.  Now, I have to force stop it like everyone else in order to get it to work in my car.  It's not a permissions issue, it's an issue that was probably introduced with a recent update.  All of my other android auto apps are working fine.  Hopefully they will fix this soon, it's very annoying.

Same car, same phone, same issues.

Get the issue but narrowed it down to when USING MY samsung Level box or headset, soon as I do that bam won't work, a restart of the phone solves it. Noted the permission advice just changed it will see if that works.

Hi there.

Not sure if your issue has been fixed yet but if it hasn't try this.

Turn OFF Bluetooth on your phone. Then, connect your phone to Android Auto and then open Spotify. This solved the same issue for me. I now leave Bluetooth off, as I mainly used it to talk to the car, which Android Auto does now anyway. Good luck

Interesting, I will have to test if this works. Thanks for the suggestion. It will still be nice to receive a fix, as I use Bluetooth for other things so having to enable and disable Bluetooth is just as annoying as force closing Spotify before I get in my car.

You're very welcome Sabien. Yes, I use Bluetooth headphones sometimes, so
it would be nice if it was fixed. Good luck and I hope it works as well as
it did for me. 😊
