Random beeping when locking/unlocking since last update

My Question or Issue

Ever since updating yesterday, every time the phone is locked or unlocked, phantom notifications are causing an irritating beeping noise like a xylophone doorbell every 5 seconds for about 20-25 seconds. The playback pauses then resumes after a fraction of a second, during which the phone seems to think Spotify has generated a push notification ('clear' option becomes available), but no notification appears.

Am I the only one experiencing this? It doesn't appear to be reported anywhere else on the forums as far as I can see. Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I use the app every day.
