Re-sync after changing offline quality?

I have just changed my offline audio quality from Normal to Extreme on my phone. Do I need to clear my cache / data and re-sync all of my music before the change to audio quality takes effect or will all tracks be overwritten at the higher quality automatically?

Yes you will need to clear all your music and resent it so that it will be a better quality.
