My Question or Issue

Recents stopped compiling data correctly earlier today.  No new songs appeared for multiple hours, and there are still many missing from my last listening session.  All devices are updated, and I am not using offline mode or private sessions.  Everything was working normally until some point later this morning.  Last.fm is still scrobbling correctly, so looking like another botched Spotify back end update.

Hi there @ck003,

Thanks for reaching out. We'll be happy to help you keep everything updated.

By this, do you mean the Recents that appear on the home page? How does the listening history look, is that one up to date and correct? In any case, consider logging out and back in twice in a row across devices, this will force a sync with the servers. Then, keep using Spotify for a while and see if the issue persists.

Let us know how it goes.

I tried multiple times to upload an edited screenshot in an effort to clarify, and your system kept having upload errors.  Really don't have time to waste navigating your buggy systems today.  I was referring to the recent playing history, which is labeled as "recents" in your app and accessible from the left user dropdown menu.  Would I be having to do 2 login cycles with all connected devices, or was that a user workaround for a different problem?

Hi @ck003,

Thanks for the reply.

We get the frustration but don't worry, we're here to help get things sorted. Two logouts in a row is meant to force a re-sync with the servers, which could help alleviate the issue, so if you're up for it, give it a go on an affected phone and see if the Recents is up-to-date then.

You mentioned a Chromebook too - do you use the web player there or have you installed the Android app? If it's the former, see if the same happens in an incognito window. If it doesn't, you can try deleting any cache and cookies related to Spotify from the browser.

Hope this helps.

Looks like the latest Android app update corrected whatever the problem was.  Thanks.
