Very frustrating that users are allowed to call personal playlists the same as system generated ones like Release Radar, Daily Mix 1 etc.  All fine if searching on screen but when asking Google Assistant to "Play Daily Mix 1 on Spotify" you can never tell which one it'll pick (usually the wrong one).

Either block playlists named the same as system ones or provide a control that allows Spotify playlists to be prioritised over user created content in search.

Issue seems to be fixed for me today (have been testing daily). Could anyone else confirm this is now resolved for them?

Result!  It works the way it should for me too.

Big thanks to all that reported it officially.

Also thanks to Google/Spotify for (eventually) acknowledging the issue and fixing it.  Hope is a permanent fix 🤞

Yes, annoyingly it's now fixed when I ask for Release Radar, Daily Mix or Discover Weekly! Just wish Google or Spotify could have advised what the problem was, or taken ownership, instead of blaming each other.

Hopefully the fix lasts and these spammers aren't allowed to upload their **bleep** anymore.

Received this message from google (I was expecting a call from support), it appears the update worked:

Allow me to express my apologies for missing the call you had scheduled. I’m sure you must have wondered why we was unavailable to call you.

We have received a huge volume of calls and was engaged with another call that lasted for a couple of hours. Upon checking we are sending an update over the cloud. Please let me know how it goes.

Ok, so this was a Spotify issue and not a Google/Nest issue after all.

Good to know who to bombard with support queries next time this happens.

In the past months I've seen the issue come and go a couple of times. These past days it seemed fixed when testing from my phone and google home mini. Today it's still there from my bluetooth earphones.

Example session, translated from Italian:

Q: "Play my playlist Discover Weekly on Spotify"

A: "Ok, playing discover weekly on Spotify" and it plays the scammer album Discover Weekly from Various Artists

Q: "Play my playlist Daily Mix 2 on Spotify"

A: "Ok, playing Daily Mix 2 on Spotify" and nothing happens. For some reason it always did this with Daily Mix 2. Now it does the same also for 3, 4, 5, and 6

Q: "Play my playlist Daily Mix 1 on Spotify"

A: "I'm sorry I couldn't understand" and nothing happens.

So, maybe something is getting better, instead of playing the scammer albums it says it will play the correct playlist and it does nothing. It still seems to really like Discover Weekly scammer album.

Maybe the supposed fix is taking a while to deploy worldwide. It would be great to have some official acknowledgment from either Google or Spotify.

It seems that voice registration quality matters, with phone mic and google home the problem seems to be gone away. With earphone mic, listening to google assistant records in the history the audio quality is a lot worse and that seems to be correlated with the assistant taking the wrong action or doing nothing. The odd thing is that the text transcription is correct and even the action it declares it will take is correct most of the times, then it does a different thing or nothing. Maybe this one of mine is a whole other issue, will try again with better earphones.

I didn't even realize I could listen in on the history of what Google Assistant heard. Very cool to find it on https://myactivity.google.com/

The quality of the audio for recent recordings from my Google Home is TERRIBLE!  It's almost all static and I can barely understood what I'd said though it appears Google was able to pick out the correct words.

Going back in time (somewhat randomly) to February 2021 I listened to a few recordings from the same Google Home. While they weren't exactly high quality audio they were much, much clearer. This could be seen graphically with greater range in the bars. In recent recordings there's constant noise while older ones had quiet between my words.

No clue what would cause this change.

For me on my Android phone the problem is now resolved for Discovery Weekly, Release Radar and Daily Mixes
