We'd first recommend making sure you've set the app as an exception for any cache clearing or battery optimization apps (for example, Sleeping Apps or app power monitor). There's also some additional steps to try in this support site article.
If you're still having troubles after that, we'd suggest performing a clean reinstallation of the app following the steps in this Spotify Answer.
If that doesn't do the trick, any additional details on when this happens would be very helpful (for example, is this occuring when you're connected to a speaker or headphones via Bluetooth).
