Songs won't play

I love Spotify, but for the past few weeks have found the app very unstable on my Windows phone. I've had to uninstall/reinstall several times in the last few weeks to get the thing to work offline. Reinstalled again today and songs that are downloaded still will not play,-no sound and no white bar showing the song playing either, although it lets me press play/pause ( with no effect). What can I do?
