My Question or Issue

In the past, in Library -> Albums section, when sorting "from newest" the albums on top would be the last added (liked) in the past. Now it seems that albums I listened to most recently would be on top (even if added years ago). Is it meant to be that way? It is quiteunconvinient.

Well this sounds strange. And it does not "improve my user experience" at all. I had my albums sorted from recently added for years and just find it frustrating the way it is now. Please remove me from test.

I gave tested this with the android phone of my wife (Samsung s22) and I can confirm she still can sort by recently added.

Both our Spotify apps have the same version, I am on Oppo Find X2 pro and cannot sort anymore..

So it seems this is more a device thing than an account issue

This change has completely ruined how I consume music and has made the app unusable from a "new music" perspective. All the countless bugs I can look past, but I will finally be unsubscribing from Spotify if this implementation remains.

It is not. Browse through thread. I have exact same phone model, with exact same android version and exact same spotify version as my girlfriend. She can sort by recently added, I can not. Someone from Spotify stated we are in A TEST GROUP 🙂

Please fix this Spotify! I can't find the new albums that I have added. They're lost in my massive library, and in the recent list among the older (for me) albums that I've been regularly listening to for years. YOU should be testing this on multiple android phones, not us!

If I'm in a test group and it's specific to users than how come I can sort by recently added on my ipad and google tv app?

Yup, I just checked on my pc and can sort albums by date added there.

I've been trialling tidal, you can sort albums by date added. 10 years with Spotify down the drain...

Have there been any updates? It doesn't make sense to force this UI change constantly on people as part of testing in the live version of the app. Every time this happens in a new update, it makes the sort feature useless for those of us who add albums to our playlists regularly and listen to them at different intervals. Therefore lumping recently added and recently played together under recents is not a helpful feature and makes it frustrating to use the app.

My Question or Issue

About a few weeks ago, I was able to sort my albums, singles and EPs in the library by "recently added" but I can't find this anymore. It's just calles "recently" and it just shows me all the stuff I recently played. If I add an album and don't listen to it - just for adding it for a later listen - it disappears somewhere down below in that list. 

Why did the Spotify developers change this?

This change is completely against the way of me using Spotify and it really makes me think about unsubscribing from my family plan.

I don't want to listen to the most recently listened stuff over and over again. I am always exploring new terrains, so I add a bunch of new albums to my library and listen to them one after another. This is impossible now because the other albums get lost somewhere in nowhere...

Please leave the recently added option in Spotify.

This is such an unnecessary, unwanted and unhelpful change. By all means ADD a new option for sorting. But why REMOVE??

It's not complicated. I want to be able to sort by things I've recently added instead of having a self-perpetuating list of a few artists/albums that I've recently listened to.
