Sound quality doesn't change

Sound quality doesn't change

Premium, Sony Xperia XZ Premium, Android 9.

When I switch sound quality from very high to low, for instance, nothing happens. How come?

Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome.
 

To begin with, if you have the Auto adjust quality option on, turn it off, then restart Spotify and check if that makes a difference. You can do that from Settings > Audio quality. Additionally, try changing the Audio normalization settings. If it is set to Loud, it can affect the audio quality. And if you haven't, you can also try using the Equalizer, to have more control and adjust your sound.

 

If none of that helps, we'd recommend running a clean reinstall of the app. No worries, you won't lose any content. You'll just need to download your offline music again.

 

If the issue persists, try logging in with your account from a different device and let us know if there's still no difference.
