Hi everyone, Don't know if others are having this issue.
I got a new Android phone, LG G4, and for some reason whenever I'm playing Spotify either in the background or in the app, it continues to play after I remove the earphones from my phone. Never had an issue with any previous Android phones or even on my computer. I know it's not the G4 issue since other apps stop playing automatically just fine.
Anyone else having this issue with Spotify? Wondering if it's just a bug and it's just a quick update fix.
Thanks!
Solved! Go to Solution.
Seems like it'd be a solid solution, but mine has been fixed for months since Spotify announced it.
Moto X Play
It appears to have started again.
Twice in the last 24hrs it has switched to playing through the phone speaker after disconecting the bluetooth device. Both times Spotify was not visible on the lock screen and the app had to be opened to stop playback.
The app is disabled under 'App power saving'
I'm currently using a Galaxy S7 edge (SM-935F), Android version 6.0.1, Spotify 6.3.0.882
Happening again to me too.
Yeah, it happened to me again like 3-4 times, today it did not, so some circumstance trigger it. Something went wrong on this since for a year it was flawless.
If happens again I will go back one release.
S6edge+
Happening to me too. S7 Edge. Android v6.0.1. Spotify v6.3.0.882. Spotify notifications set as priority and everything. Tried reinstalling Spotify and factory resetting the phone.
Yep. It was fixed for months, but it happened to me for the first time in ages again today.
Moto X Play / Android 6.0.1 / Spotify 6.3.0.882
It's happening for me as well.
When listening to music, if the headphones are removed, Spotify continues to play music from phone speakers.
Samsung Galaxy SIII
Android version: 4.4.2
Spotify version: 6.3.0.882 armV7
Thanks for the heads up everyone. Glad to know I won't ever touch Spotify update again unless it completely stops working.
The notification icon disappears and the music keeps playing in different situations, when you answer a call, when I remove the headphone or when playing on any Bluetooth device and I turn off the same. Bluetooth device can not pause or skip to the next song because bug.
Motorola Moto X - Android 6.0
Spotify app version: 6.3.0.882 amrV7
The same thing is happening to me also. The song continues to play and switches to internal phone speaker upon Bluetooth disconnection. I rolled back to version 5.9.0.774 using a backup .apk file I had.
FFS Spotify devs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had this problem on my previous phone and had to wait months for them to fix it, then they go and release an update that introduces no apparent features but reintroduces the bug again. The incompetence is unbelievable.
My previous post detailed issues with my S6, now I'm getting it again in app version 6.3.0.882 on my S7. Sort your **bleep** out Spotify!!
Can anyone confirm the latest apk version without the bug, and any link to download? It might be time to give Google Play Music another try.
