Spotify crashes unless the screen is off/locked.

Premium account. UK. Oneplus3T / Android 8.0.0

Hi,

For the past week my spotify app has crashed everytime that I have the screen on (it crashes when browsing spotify, when I open other apps, or when doing nothing, as long as the screen is on). The only time that it doesn't crash is when the screen is turned off/locked. The app still appears in the lock screen.

I've checked through the battery settings and battery optimisation, etc, isn't turned on and I have plenty of memory left.

Could someone please advise? Thanks.

Edit: I've also tried a fresh reinstall, etc and I'm not logged in elsewhere either.

This could be the same continual crash bug that many Android users are currently getting. The only thing that worked for me was rolling back to an older version from

https://spotify.en.uptodown.com/android/old

8.4.74.463 is the last build that seems to work - everything after that has been unusable so far.
