Spotify is not working on Mobile data (Vodafone 4G), works fine on Wifi though

Spotify is not working on Mobile data (Vodafone 4G), works fine on Wifi though

I use Spotify Premium, things were going good till March 2020, post that it is not working on Mobile Data, works great with Wifi though. I have tried almost all the possible solution, installing the app again, deleting app data and cache, giving all the required permission in the mobile settings as well as the app settings.

I use Vodafone 4G in Delhi, internet speed is good and all the other apps are working normally. I am using Moto G8+ android phone.

Can anyone please help me out?

Even I faced this issue for the past few days.Tried contacting Spotify support but they couldn't give a solution. after hours of trial and error I found out that it is carrier issue associated only with Vodafone since their last carrier update. The solution is to turn your 4G VoLTE off ( voice over LTE) In your mobile cellular settings. I dunno where is this setting in Android but it should definitely be there. On iPhone go to settings --> mobile data -->mobile data options -->voice&data --> select 4G,VoLTE Off. This is a workaround solution for now untill Vodafone provides a good carrier update .

Didn't work out for me 😞

It was a carrier problem, I switched from Vodafone to Airtel and is working
good now. Thanks everyone ❤️

Hey there @_sid,

Thanks for reaching out about this.

What we can recommend in this case is to try switching on the preferred Network type to 3G or another 4G mode (if available) and see whether that makes any difference.

Another thing you can try is to ask a friend for their Sim Card and see if the app functions normally when using that one instead of yours.

Keep us posted.

If your problem doesn't get solved after turning off VOLTE then try this:

In the Internet settings, go to 'Access Point Names', then in the Vodafone APN, change the APN and APN Roaming Protocol to IPV4 only. Should work after that.

I found this answer in OnePlus forums and it worked for me. I hope it helps someone else too. Apparently vodaphone sucks and doesn't work with some apps. This fix should make your life a little easier.

This worked. Thanks

Same issue with Vodafone and one plus 6, tried all the uninstall /cache clear /reboot cleared by changing the setting of apn ipv4 (only)

Thanks a million! This fixed my issue!
