Spotify on Google assistant

Hello everyone 🙂

I recently read that Spotify was collaborating with Google so we could set an alarm with a song from Spotify. I was wondering how can we set this type of alarm. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks for reading, Jose.

Hey @Jose_M,

You can set a musical alarm with a song from Spotify using the Google Clock app (only available on Android devices). To get started with musical alarms, make sure the latest versions of your Spotify and Clock apps are installed and connected on your device.

Premium Spotify users will be able to select specific songs, while Free Spotify users won't be able to search for or select specific songs. They might also hear ads.

Follow this steps to set up a musical alarm:

  1. Open your Android device's Clock app unnamed (2).png.
  2. At the top, tap Alarm.
  3. On the alarm you want, tap the Down arrow unnamed (3).png.
  4. Tap the current sound's name.
  5. Tap Spotify.
  6. Choose music from your recently played items, or search for the music you want to use for your alarm.
  7. To choose the music you want, tap the item.

For more information, check out this Google Clock support article.

Also, if you have a Google Home device, you can set up a music alarm by saying "Hey/Ok Google, set a music alarm" then follow the prompts asked by the Google Assistant to set up a music alarm.

Let me know if you have any questions. Happy listening 🙂
