Spotify playing through phonecalls

Hi, I'm using marshmallow 6.02 on a Samsung Galaxy S7. I bought the phone new, and Spotify is a pre-installed default app. I recently had to do a hard reset on my phone restoring it to factory settings. Ever since, when I'm listening to Spotify, and I get a phone call, the music continues to play OVER the phone call. Very annoying! Also, controls from the lock screen have disappeared. I checked, and am not on battery saving mode. I cannot uninstall because it's a default app, but have tried clearing the data, restoring to factory version, and then re-updating etc. No help. Can someone please help!? Thanks
