Spotify "disconnect" for no reasons

Spotify "disconnect" for no reasons

My Question or Issue

I use Spotify on Android, and when I'm listening to a song, if I switch to another app while keeping Spotify open in the background, the music stops. However, it doesn't stop normally it closes as if I were disconnected from the internet, even though I’m still connected and have data on.

In the image, you can see what appears after the 'disconnection.' Normally, there should be the usual player with the various icons. do you know how to fix that?

PS: Yes, I’ve checked the background playback settings, but the issue persists.

Hey there @yuyuEros,

Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome.

Have you posted an image of the error? We could not visualize, as it seemed it did not upload. Would you mind sending it again?

On another note, if you haven't, we'd suggest you perform a clean reinstall of the app. By doing that, the app can be up-to-date, and you can make sure the cache is not leading to the app closing when it's in the background. You can find out the steps to do it here.

If the above doesn't do the trick, we'd like to gather some additional info. Please send us:

  • The make/model and OS of the affected device.
  • The exact Spotify version you're running there.
  • Does this happen over WiFi? Do you notice any difference if you switch the internet connection you're using?
  • Do you notice if this started to happen after a specific event such as an OS update?

Keep us in the loop!
