My Question or Issue

Spotify says I'm offline when using data but not on wifi. I tried reinstalling, cache and storage clear, and clean reinstalling, but nothing fixes it. How do I fix this?

Hey @Samsictsa, thanks for reaching out to the Community!

I am sure you have checked, but just to make sure - have you made sure Offline Mode was turned off following these steps? If that doesn’t work, can you let me know if this happens when you use a different network connection? It would also be helpful to let me know if this happens when you use WiFi.

Let me know how this goes!

@Billy-J I'm using Spotify Free, so I don't think I have access to Offline Mode. If I'm using Wi-Fi, it works just fine.

Hey @Samsictsa

Thanks for the reply. So, it seems that it could be an issue with either your account, device, or internet connection (data network). Let’s try following these steps.

Can you try logging in to Spotify using another account? You can create one here for test purposes, and then sign in. After you do that, try to listen to music using data and see if that makes a difference.

If that doesn’t work, then can you check to see if the data works with other applications? If it does, then I would recommend getting in touch with the manufacturer and with your mobile service provider for more info about what could be blocking Spotify from using mobile data.

Since you’ve stated you reinstalled the app — can you give it a try following these steps? Those steps are more thorough than a simple reinstall.
