Spotify widget constantly crashes

Hello,

Xperia Z3 Compact, latest build (234) of Lollipop 5.1.1, latest build of Spotify.

The on-screen widget constantly crashes. (Basically it looks as if the app isn't running.) Artwork, title, artist, buttons disappear. Has anybody else had this problem?

Marshmallow Concept 6.0.1 changes nothing in this behaviour and I found reports from 2013 on this forum that this has been a problem then already. Good to see the tech team working hard.
