Spotify with Moto 360 ok google problem

Hi,

I am using my Moto 360 with voice commands.
I say ok google and then play artist name.
If my phone has the screen off the music does not start playing. I always need to unlock the screen and the music immediately starts.
This is very annoying because I don't want to touch my phone.
I am using a nexus 6p with 6.0.1

Anyone know why this happen?

Same issue even with the lock screen turned off. This also happens with Google Voice search when the phone is locked.
