In my Galaxy S7 Edge, I've selected storage location to SD card, and it is confirmed that it is selected, but the app continues to use a huge amount of storage on the internal memory of the phone, as it is saving the downloaded songs on both SD card and internal storage

That seems to be a bug in the way spotify reports memory usage to the android system. It's purely cosmetic and checking the folder sizes using a file manager will confirm this. I reported this bug here.
