good call on fixing the typo! that's the closest we'll get to having a bug fixed.
Hi, Per -- I'm glad that these posts are getting some troubleshooting going. I think that those of us who are suffering from bugs that prevent us from using the service we're paying for (and bugs that randomly stop playback do just that) are looking to see a little urgency around addressing these problems. Any idea how soon we can expect to see some fixes? (For what it's worth, I didn't run into any of these issues with the beta.)
Hi Alan.
To be honest, I could be told something will be fixed tomorrow and I still wouldn't publicly state anything until I saw it fixed.
This isn't because people lie, but because Murphy makes a good point that something can go wrong at any time and things can get delayed or unfixed at the last minute, due to unforeseen circumstances.
That said, I honestly don't know when the next batch of fixes will be.

Right, it's not on you to be making those calls. But to be honest, they should be releasing updates every few days, like almost every other app in the world does (at least, ones this buggy).
I posted this in the Downgrade thread, and I just want to make sure it gets noticed here. I figured out why the app keeps putting the cache on the internal memory instead of the external SD Card:
I used to have a T-Mobile G2. The internal memory in that phone is treated as RAM/ROM. My SD Card there was located in /mnt/sdcard/ or as just /sdcard/. I just lost it over July 4th and had to buy a new phone, so I switched to a T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S III. The GS3 has 16GB internal memory, but that 16GB is separate from the RAM/ROM because it's an internal SD Card. THAT memory is located in the phone as:/mnt/sdcard/ or as /sdcard/. However, the expandable card is actually located in /mnt/extSdCard/.
So it's completely understandable how the Spotify app would assume that a location listed as "/mnt/sdcard/" would be our own expandable SD Card, but it's not correct. This explains why my G2 never had this issue.
I can also confirm that after a clean wipe of everything related to Spotify, I was able to downgrade, set the location of the sdcard (which I set to/mnt/extSdCard/SpotifyCache/). I then synced my smallest playlist to it. Then I upgraded through the market to the new version and then continued caching the rest of my playlists. Voila.
Exactly the same problem description here (phone: LG Optimus One), i.e. the music just stops a few minutes into each playlist.
Extremely annoying.

1. uninstalled
2. cleared data
3. reinstalled
(did this TWICE)

Can you try this without anything plugged into the phone? Just try doing it straight out of the phone speakers. Does the same issue come up when you play it like that?
manhattan - One thing you could try is turning off both Gapless and Crossfade in your phone. This might get things playing again.

So does this solve the "offline" issues? I've already tried having the cache on the external card, but got into a lot of problems, being kicked out from the good times continuously. But as I mentioned my problem was propably due to having downloaded playlists. I to have an SGS2 as you. Don't you have issues??
And to the SPotify team: Good to hear from you! I bet you're working on it, looking forward to a stable version!

I haven't had the offline issue since the old version--which didn't have cache issues--so I doubt this fixes that. Also, I have an SGS3, so we do have slightly different phones.
All of the issues I've been facing are basic problems that are essentially annoyances, like the auto-resume play after making/receiving a phone call not always working, and the lock screen controls not always working, and position in queue not being saved. Nothing that actually breaks the usage of the app, though.

Indeed. How is this still not fixed? Unbelievable!
Hi, David (and others) -- Even with gapless playback and crossfades turned off, and even playing just over the phone's built-in speaker (no wired or Bluetooth headset connected), I have exactly the same problem: after a little while, playback just stops. And if I then go to the Spotify app, I just see this: screenshot link
I am having the same issue that many others here are having. Songs on a playlist seem to stop playing randomly. I have followed the instructions about uninstalling and reinstalling. The random stops happen usually before I even get to finish a song. And then the screen looks exactly like the poster above said. I'm a paying premium member but I think it's time to ditch spotify and try others. I never have issues on the PC version, but the android version just doesn't work. Since I have an android phone and I signed up to be able to stream while on the go and that is not working I feel I am not getting the value. The errors of stopping happens when I am on a 4G or wifi connection - both do the same stop thing. It also does it when I have downloaded tracks and play them offline. Something is majorily wrong with this release. I didn't have these problems before.

I know how you feel. I've been looking into Rdio. They have a 7 day free trial for the mobile version. After the free trial the pricing looks identical to Spotify: http://www.rdio.com/pricing/
Rdio has been working well for me. I had been using Rdio and Spotify for a while, but decided to go with Spotify after really liking the Preview version. I've been forced to go back to Rdio after Spotify released their buggy app to Google Play.

I'll give it a go today when I go to the gym.
i tried rdio six months ago, and the android app definitely had problems. however, they've released several updates since then (imagine that) and they even have a changelog: http://help.rdio.com/ (again, imagine that). you may also notice that in their support forums, reps from the company actually communicate with users and answer their questions. pretty much what the user-volunteers do here, except they actually have information that warrants their employment with the company, unlike spotify reps, which are strictly on damage control.
