Why does Spotify play every search result?

When I search for a specific song, Spotify will play the song, and after, continue to play the rest of the search results, which is either different versions of the same song or songs that have similar names. Why? Why would anyone want that feature as default?

Is there anyway to change this so Spotify plays a different but similar songs (either by the same artist or a similar artist)?

Btw, my solution is to switch to google play music. Tried out the service and it's MUCH better than Spotify! Doesn't even have this issue.
