Why must I have premium?

Why must I have premium?

I'm sure this has been adressed before, but I figured I'd ask anyway. I have an andriod tablet, that is not a mobile device, it's only used in my house on my Wi-Fi less than 5 feet from my computer that has Spotify free. Why the deuce must I pay 10 bucks a month for this? Are there plans to change this in the future or what? I've recommend spotify to people because it's such an awesome program on the PC and I just got the tablet, for a variety of reasons one of the biggest that was that I thought I could Spotify in the other room. I am dissapoint.

Hey!

Spotify is viewing Android and iOS as mobile operating systems (regardless of your connection) that's why you require a Premium account. Only users in the US can use the radio function on the mobile version with a free account. This is also due to licencing. There were rumours that Spotify is working on an ad-based free version for mobile too, but not sure if that's really true.

However, you're not alone with that opinion and there exist some ideas about it here:

Add your kudos and comment there please, so it might change in the future. 😉
