My Question or Issue
Similar to a previous issue raised, and then fixed even when I have "remove episodes immediately after playing" selected, my episodes are now remaining downloaded until I manually remove them.
I only noticed this started happening yesterday and there was a recent update on 1st July.
Anyone else experiencing same?
This has started happening again for me on Android, latest version of the app, and I've tried clearing cache, and reinstalling the app.
Hey folks,
Thanks for reaching out.
@Pastie, can you let us know your exact Spotify version and whether you've tried clean reinstalling the app? @Taurus1992, please share your version as well along with the model and OS version of the device this is happening on, so we can report the issue to our tech team.
Keep us posted.
This is also happening to me, with the latest update in the past day, my completed podcasts are no longer being automatically removed from my "Your episodes" playlist despite having this setting enabled. Spotify 9.0.58.596, Android 16, Pixel 6.
Hey,
Since yesterday's update the feature to remove played episodes in "your episodes" isn't working anymore on my Android phone. Spotify version is 9.0.58.596.
Is anyone else experiencing the same problem?
Hi there folks,
Thanks for taking the time to let us know this is happening.
I tried it myself from an Android device, and the episodes weren't removed immediately after finishing them, but they were gone not long after. Just to check, if you open 'Your Episodes' right now, do you still see those finished episodes there?
We'll be on the lookout!
Yes the episodes are still there
Hey there folks,
Thanks for letting us know about this behavior.
Please send us:
Keep us in the loop!
Appreciate the cooperation, @muunleit.
Unfortunately we weren't able to open the video. Could you try to resend it and this time upload it via Google Drive? Only make sure that you've set the right permissions so we can access it.
Thanks and we'll be on the lookout!
The settings/cog button is now working. The auto-removal of finished episodes did start working. But it seems to have stopped working again now. My finished episodes are no longer being removed from "Your episodes" list. I have them set to remove after playing.
I'm on Android app 9.0.58.596.
Hey again @muunleit and thanks for resending the video.
There seems to be a newer app version. Would you mind updating it and let us know if the behavior persists?
Hope to hear from you soon.
Are you sure? Google Play Store tells me, I have the latest version installed.
Thanks for confirming, @muunleit.
A newer version which should remedy this behavior is in the works, folks. Stay tuned and make sure to keep Spotify updated so you don't miss it.
Cheers 🤘
Hi,
It seems the auto delete of ended podcasts had stopped to worked again.
Although the definition button works
Hey, this issue was fixed but it's back again. I can click on the gear icon just fine, and it says episodes are set to being deleted after being played but they are not deleting. Super annoying, especially because it was just fixed! Any help getting this resolved would be awesome. @Maria ?
9.0.60.614 and the problem is still there
Hey folks,
Thank you for your reports.
We've forwarded this to the relevant team, we'll let you know once we have news to share.
