That doesn't sound quite right.
Have you tried reinstalling your app? If not here's a step by step tutorial.

What phone are you using? It might be something to do with app permissions on the phone, which is a problem I've had before.

1. Exact Device (e.g. Samsung Galaxy 4, Windows7, OSX)

2. Exact operating system (e.g. 4.4.2)

3. Spotify app version installed (2.0.0)

Are you sure that your is opening on your device?

Can you let us know what version of Spotify are you using? 

Are you connected to WiFi or using mobile data?

What version of Android are you on?
