speeding up and slowing down problems

While listening on my Moto G to downloaded tracks, they sometimes speed up then slow down before going back to nomal. Any thoughts why this might be happening. Seems to be getting worse

Ive been having this problem for quite awhile now and I have no idea how to fix it. My tracks will randomly speed up and slow down.

I tried screen recording, but whenever the recording started the sound would return to normal. The second I stopped recording, the music would become really distorted again. 

Honestly its quite terrifying and I hope it fixes itself soon.

Additionally, would you mind letting us know which troubleshooting steps you've already tried?
