Can Spotify do this? xpost from reddit

Maybe it's because I'm dense, middle-aged, or just weird, but I apparently don't understand Spotify as I've tried to use it.

When I got Spotify, I added something like a hundred artists I like. Maybe more, I can't recall.

All I want is for Spotify to literally shuffle everything they have, from everybody I've put in. That's it. I have no use for, and actively dislike the concept of, playlists; I listen to metal-jazz-techno-prog-swing-classical-whatever back to back at random, mostly while driving.

I've been using Pandora for years, but even though I have all of my stations shuffled together there, it feels like the track list there has winnowed itself down to a core subset of songs over and over.

By contrast, Spotify seems to only have ever given me one playlist of one genre. The embodiment of why I don't understand playlists - it's so strange to me that anyone at all would ever want that.

Am I missing something stupidly obvious here?
