What is this new feature "Now Playing View" ?

It has slowed my app down its almost unbearable... i didn't ask for this feature its pointless and slow... I have never been this upset with Spotify for over 8 years of having this account... please either remove this feature or deed up Spotify if not I will be deleting my account... one very unhappy customer.
