We’ll be keeping an eye on this thread and reporting back to the right folks, as well as linking to any known issues which may arise.
Please note:
Wrapped may not be available to all users, as it’s subject to specific eligibility criteria. Before posting here we encourage you to ensure you’re on the latest version of the app, and read this year’s FAQ in the Support Site for more information.
my 2024 wrapped playlist was plagued by songs and artists I very rarely if at all listen to. I don’t know what you guys changed this year about how this playlist is put together but boy this was a huge let down……
my wrapped 2024 playlist was plagued with songs and artists I rarely if at all listen to or search for. I look forward to this playlist every year. I don’t know what you guys changed, but this was a huge disappointment.
That story about Karol G sounds familiar, but I had a similar experience with another artist.
For a long time, I’ve suspected that Spotify accepts payments from artists to boost their visibility. Beyoncé is a prime example for me. I blocked her a year ago because I couldn’t escape the flood of sponsored messages promoting her music, even though I absolutely hate her songs and never listen to them. It was driving me crazy! Blocking her helped somewhat, but occasional sponsored messages still slipped through. This only strengthened my conviction that Spotify prioritises paid promotions rather than authentic user preferences.
But it’s not just about Beyoncé. Spotify’s recommendations are all over the place. I’m constantly being pushed genres like punk, hard rock, and country—styles I’ve never shown interest in. With 178,579 minutes of music streamed this year (plus 64,908 minutes of podcasts), Spotify has more than enough data to curate my preferences accurately. So why do I keep seeing suggestions that are so off-target?
If I decide to stick with Spotify next year, I’ll probably start blocking more artists to regain control over the algorithm. The app feels increasingly chaotic these days, especially with the addition of audiobooks, which you can’t even hide. It’s like Spotify is trying to be everything at once and losing sight of what made it great. Ignoring user complaints is only making things worse—it’s such a disappointing direction for the platform. It feels like a case of smart people making inexplicably poor decisions.
Hi! My friends got their wrapped yesterday, I didn’t get anything. I changed into a student premium-subscription a little while ago, and I’m wondering if that now is considered a “different account”. I’ve had a regular premium subscription for about 12 years, only switched now that I’m studying and don’t have a job right now. I’m very sad and disappointed I’m not getting a wrapped this year, as it’s always so much fun. I use Spotify every day for music or podcasts, so I know I’ve listened enough for it to have the data.
Is there anything to be done here? Thanks!
My wrapped is mostly accurate but I listened to Tommy Richman a lot this year and I felt he should have been top 10 but he's not even in my top 20. And none of his songs are in my top 100 but I'm sure there should have been at least 3 of them. Why is this the case?
Your Wrapped playlists can indeed not be shared directly because when others click the link, they will see their own Wrapped instead of yours. To keep my Wrapped playlists accessible and shareable, I save them as regular playlists. This way, even if Spotify ever deletes my previous Top 100 overviews, I can still enjoy them.
Mine was so bad that I decided to leave Spotify
Hi, I received my wrapped 2024 today, and it seems obvious that my account has been cloned. In addition to believing it impossible to have listened to music for more than 92,000 minutes, I find myself in the Top 5 of songs and artists totally unknown to me. I would like to understand what I can or should do. Thanks
Aldo
I also switched to the couples plan mid-year but this shouldn’t have anything to do with it. I’ve changed plans before, if it’s within the same account it shouldn’t matter. I also have results from before my change. I think they just severely dropped the ball this year on it.
Today I came across a few YouTube videos of people reacting to their Wrapped and Top 100. Thankfully, they didn’t hesitate to express their dissatisfaction. In the comments, someone explained how to find your top 20 artists of the year. Out of curiosity, I checked my own list, but once again, the results felt quite off. Artists I listened to frequently didn’t even make it to the top 10, while some I’m not even that into ranked higher.
Once again, it’s clear Spotify’s ranking makes no sense. How do Madonna, Britney Spears, and Jennifer Lopez end up in my Top 20 when I’ve barely listened to their songs? Meanwhile, artists I’ve listened to extensively, like Dua Lipa, Mahmood, and Katy Perry, don’t even appear.
Here’s a comparison: Spotify ranks Ariana Grande as my #3 artist of 2024, but Stats for Spotify, Stats.fm, and Volt.fm place her at #21. Also, my top artist is only #12 on these other platforms. Given that these sites use the same data, I tend to trust their rankings over Spotify’s. Plus, the information better meets my expectations.
Want to find out where your favourite artists rank according to Spotify? Here’s what to do: 1) Open your Top 100 playlist, 2) tap the three dots (...) next to a song and choose “Share,” 3) if three slides appear (instead of two) it means this artist ended up in your Artist Top 20; the third slide will show the artist’s ranking.
I had no idea a hangover could last as long as five days, haha.
Half of my wrapped info does not show like it does for others I am missing basic info such as how many times I listened to my top song or my most listened day. the edits do not show so I have to tap through. I have reset the app and redownloaded it but nothing seems to work
So I have the problem that every time I try to open my spotify wrapped it skips the slides automaticly so I can not watch them. I tried to deinstall and then reinstall the App but that does not work.

Unfortunately, this year's Wrapped is a total mess. Last year was good to see a proper breakdown on bands and tunes and some interesting sub categories. This year, I can't trust any of the results. The no. 1 band I've supposedly listened to hardly got played this year, and bands I've been listening a lot are not even in the top 50. There are also songs listed I would never have listened to.
The bizarre made up music categories are another new innovation that needs to go, as is the weird AI chatbot intro... Super creepy.
Makes me wonder if anyone at your company has a single clue about what your customers want. While it's not essential, this feature is important to your customers and I'm surprised how **bleep** up it is.

My Question or Issue
My spotify wrapped animations does not work
It’s disappointing that Spotify doesn’t seem to recognise how important the Wrapped experience is to many of its users. Personally, while it may not be essential, I’ve always valued the annual Top 100 lists as a nostalgic look back at my music journey. For example, the 2019 and 2022 playlists feature songs that were played at my father’s and grandmother’s funerals, making those lists especially meaningful. Back then, Wrapped felt trustworthy. Last year’s Wrapped already raised some doubts—it didn’t fully align with the monthly listening data I had started tracking. This year, I continued monthly tracking for fun, creating a chronological archive. But comparing my playlists to this year’s Wrapped, it was clear: the final Top 100 was completely off. It’s disappointing to see such a cherished feature fall apart.
Spotify isn't just for the indivuals use. Some users use it for their children, bedtime listening, work, sports etc. This interferes with the annual wrapped analytics - leading to one that doesn't truly represent the user, which makes the feature disappointing.
As a UX/UI designer myself, I would recommend studying into scenerios people use Spotify, so that you can create categories.
From this, I suggest exploring ways to incorporate these categories into the "liked" songs as well as the playlists. Such as a wrapped toggle on/off for playlists, or pre-coded categories that are excluded from the wrapped like "work" category. This way, the wrapped analytics has more personalisation and will better represent the user.
Spotify will benefit from the categories feature as it continuously collects data to better understand it's users and their behaviours. Who knows what opportunities this will discover. (This is similar to other apps such as Monzo, where the user can categorise their spending).
Having pre-suggested categories when a user saves a song or adds to a playlist will reduce time and frustrations with this new feature.
It can reduce search time for the user too - when they arrive on the home page they can swipe through their categories they have been building (I.e study, relax, social).
Circling round to the original point. This will allow for annual wrapped analytics to sieve out listening that doesn't represent them (work, children, sleep). Leading to a more successful wrapped feature, and more...
How do you turn off wrapped, or at the very least hide it?
I can access my 2024 Wrapped playlist by searching for "Wrapped", but clicking on the playlist does not allow me to see the data presentation. I can't see my top artists or any of the statistics.
