Hi @ripplewarprec,
Thanks for posting in the Spotify Community!
I think this is a great idea as well, and there are currently a few similar ideas in the Idea Exchange:
- This Closed Idea for an option to add a song to the top or bottom of your playlist (while the status of this idea is currently “Closed - Not Enough Votes,” it can become an active idea again if it gains sufficient votes)
- This Live Idea for being able to add a song to where you’d like it to be in your playlist, using the mobile app
- This Live Idea for an option to immediately move a track to the top or bottom of your playlist
If any of these ideas are something you’re interested in, I recommend adding your +VOTE to them; the more votes an idea gets, the likelier it is that Spotify will implement it, and you can read more about how feedback on ideas reaches Spotify here.
In the meantime, if you have the desktop app, one thing that you can do when adding a song to a playlist (sorted by Custom order) is holding a left-click on the song you’re going to add, then dragging it over the title of the playlist you want to add it to, and moving up in the playlist (shown by the green line position) before releasing the left-click to drop the song at the top, where you want it to be.
Another shortcut that you can use on the desktop app is clicking "Ctrl + C" (command + C on a Mac) while the song you'd like to add is selected, and then clicking the first song in the playlist you'd like to add it to (sorted by Custom order), before clicking "Ctrl + V" (command + V on a Mac). This will add the new song right below the first song in the playlist, so you can more easily drag it to the top.
Let me know if you have any questions, and have a good day!
